The Intellectual Property High Court has territorial jurisdiction over the entirenation. Therefore, a suit seeking a review of a ruling ordecision made by the Intellectual Property Trial And Appeal Board (IPTAB) should be filed to the Intellectual Property High Court regardless of the party's domicile. Any appeal of the Intellectual Property High Court's decisions should be brought directly to the Supreme Court, as the Intellectual Property High Court is an appellate-level court.
The Intellectual Property High Court exercises exclusive jurisdiction overcertain matters as prescribed by the Patent Act, the UtilityModel Act, the Design Act and the Trademark Act, and otherlaws including the Act on the Protection of New Varieties of Plants. Since January 1, 2016, the Intellectual Property High Court also has exclusive appellate jurisdiction over civil actions relatingto IP rights.
